      1. Follicular Unit Transplant (FUT)

In the FUT procedure, a skin belt is cut out from the occipital area and wound is closed in two layers. From the skin belt individual follicular units are cutand then planted one by one in the bald area.

For inserting grafts we can use, 11blade knife or iris knife to make a slit or 19 or 22 gauge hypodermic needles to make holes and to insert the grafts. The needle is attached to a 14 size suction catheter which in turn is attached to a suction machine which produces a mild vacuum suction pressure (approximately 80mm of Hg).

  2. Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE)

FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) is a procedure to extract, or to ‘harvest’, donor hair in the follicular unit hair transplantation technique. In Follicular Unit Extraction procedure, a tool (Micro Motor attached with 0.9mm / 1.0mm punches) is utilized for creating a tiny, circular incision around follicular unit, in the skin, thus separating it successfully from the tissue surrounding it. Then, the unit is directly extracted (pulled) from the scalp to leave a tiny open hole.

Inserting FUE grafts will be same as like FUT grafts.
